:(

Well Boo broke up with me Wednesday night. Apparently he had stopped loving me and didn't know why. So understandably I'm upset.

Good news is that next Thursday I am boarding a bus to Thunder Bay for university and I'm not coming back until Thanksgiving weekend (Canadian Thanksgiving just FYI). So I'll have some time to get over him. I lost the guy that I love and my best friend (but closer?) with this break up :( I've been crying pretty constantly...

I'll try not to be too much of a downer though. I'm excited to go to university! Although packing for it is really hard! Anyone have any packing tips they could share? I'm going 1400km north so I've discovered how great space bags are for all the bulky sweaters and stuff.

100 Reasons Why I Love You - #2

#2 - How you’re self-conscious about me touching your hair (if you think it’s gross).

100 Reasons Why I Love You - #1

Well I decided I'd come up with a list of reasons why I love Boo. And I finished all 100! So I'm going to be writing them down in a book and giving them to him :)

Reason #1 - How you pretend not to be ticklish even though you totally are.

Meaningless Fights - Resolved! :)

Apparently he was just too tired to be coherent. Apparently the only thing he meant was that he misses me and it feels different than normal. The fact that it feels different was weirding him out.

Talk about making something out of nothing, eh? But that's the problem with talking without stress signals in voices or body language :/

Meaningless Fights

Earlier tonight Boo and I were talking and he was saying how he misses me and it's been bugging him. And it's been bugging him because he misses me differently than he normally does. Normally (this is how he described it) "the ache in your chest - like a mix of being hungry and sick in your chest, which still sucks but is an okay sucks. This has been different I don't know how to explain it" When I asked him how this compared to the "okay sucks" of the normal one he said "It's different... It's easier but makes me feel worse" and by the time I'd gotten his message and replied he wasn't answering (my guess is he fell asleep).

So I've been freaking out about this. Alternating between being terrified that it's something terrible (since he can't explain himself well at all) and being angry that he fell asleep in the middle of that conversation. Ugh I'm just really frustrated and scared right now :( I'll update when he answers. But right now I'm wishing I'd noticed my phone light go on when he texted so he wouldn't have had the chance to fall asleep. And I'm wishing I wasn't imagining all the worst-case scenarios.

Oh no...

It's happened... I've fallen in love with the ring... In case you don't remember I mean this gorgeous ring

This also happens to be the ring that there's only one of. And I'm probably a good 5 to 6 years away from being engaged... Oh no :( I'm so sad now... But it's the guy that matters not the ring... Hopefully by the time someone asks me to marry them I'll have forgotten about this gorgeous gorgeous ring...

Confession!

I am generally not very girly. Not at all. I play rugby, I wrestle, I play video games! Just by the way, Legend of Zelda is my favourite. But I have to confess...

I've engaged in girly activities.

Dun dun dun!!!!!

But what might those girly activities be? Well I came across a forum. A forum about engagement rings. And I read it. Everyone knew exactly what they wanted and there I was confused as to what a princess cut was! I decided to rectify the situation. I now know what a princess cut is! And I know the difference between an engagement ring and a wedding band :) In my journey towards knowledge I found some rings that I do like.

But first of all what specific things do I like in a ring?
  1. I like white gold because it goes with everything. But I LOVE rose gold because it seems so much more unique and in my opinion makes it seem more antique. The picture below shows yellow, white, and rose gold.

  2. I like engagement rings that come with a matching wedding band and interlock together. Like they're two pieces of a puzzle and just fit. Like this one.
I really don't like ones like this, where they seem mismatched:

3. I like more curved rings as opposed to pointy. I like it when it just looks softer, and almost wavy (if that makes any sense?). I really like the way the band curves around the stone in the picture of the interlocking rings.

4. I don't want the main stone to be set really high (where it comes up high from the ring) because I feel like it would snag on everything.

5. I'm not really a fan of coloured stones as the main stone so clear or white would be great :) But I also think colour as an accent would work. I love blue but I wouldn't want sapphire accents. I'd like aquamarine because it's a more muted blue and is more subtle.

6. Unique :) Something that stands out and is unique to me.

7. Not outrageously expensive!

Now then!
While I was looking up all of this I looked at http://www.etsy.com/browse/feed/jewelry/rings under the "Antique Engagement" and "Handmade Engagement" sections. If you want a unique one of a kind ring, look here! The rings are gorgeous and a lot are fairly inexpensive. These are some of the ones I like:

I like this ring because of the detail and the band is doing the softer wavy thing that I adore. I'm not sure whether I would like this better in white gold (above) or rose gold. If the stone were set lower into the ring it would be perfect :)

I like this ring because of the double band and the rose gold but I find that there's just too many stones and it seems over the top to me.

I like this ring because of the simplicity. I would love this in rose gold! I love that the main stone isn't set too high from the band :) This definitely seems like the type of ring you almost have to have engraved because it's so simple. I like it a lot, but it does seem more like a wedding band than an engagement ring.

This ring is very similar to the first one with exception of the flowers having 5 petals here. However in this one I find that the stones on the side of the band are too much. That may just be because of the contrast with the rose gold though. In the first picture the stones and metal seem to almost blend together because of the colour similarities whereas here they stand out. I love this ring for the details and softness but to make it perfect I would take off (at least) the bottom three stones on the band. The greater amount of petals also seem to make the diamond seem to be set lower.

And that's what I've been obsessing over! If a guy ever wants to propose to me I'll make sure Pickle sends them here :) they'll know what I want without even having to ask! I'm trying not to make up my mind on a specific ring (even though the last one is my favourite) so I won't be let down to get a different one. I'm trying to just like general ideas right now (I'm not sure it's working).

Have you guys ever had an embarrassing obsession? Does anyone want to share? Does anyone want to talk about their dream engagement ring (it's okay to be completely unrealistic!)? Does anyone want to talk about having to buy an engagement ring? Anyone have any questions in general? Or did I learn all about this for nothing? :P Comments appreciated guys! :)

Little Kid Movies and Childhood

Pickle is my best friend. She's a giant goofball and has a really bad case of Neverland syndrome. It's really funny because when I tell her how long it is until she's 18 (a month and 2 days) she covers her ears and tries to drown me out. She's the epitome of silliness and is still in love with every Disney movie from our childhood. Especially Mulan.

She constantly sings that she will make a man out of me, but I'm pretty sure I'm still a girl. And anyways, I seriously recommend having a marathon of your favorite kid movies, you catch all the sexual references and things you didn't understand as a kid. My personal favorite kid movie is Hercules.

So of course when I read the actual story of Hercules my childhood died a little bit inside. In it he kills his children and all of this crazy stuff... But my childhood actually curled up and died last summer when I saw the final Harry Potter movie.

It was time though, my childhood had entered a terminal illness once I finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

What movies were significant in your childhood? What books? Did you have anything unique that defined it? Be sure to let me know in the comments :)

Boo's Family Shenanigans

So this summer Boo is away working for seven weeks. He gets home for good on the17th but because he's been gone I've only really been able to see him twice all summer. Once was the first weekend he came back (Friday, July 13) and the most recent times were August 3rd and 4th (the Friday and Saturday).

The funniest thing happened though when we were at his house on Friday! Boo and I were out by the pool in the hammock talking and his step-sister Miss (who's 18th birthday is tomorrow August 7th!) started knocking on the class so someone would open the door and let her in. All of a sudden we hear a huge bang on the glass at the same time as one of Miss's knocks. She starts laughing hysterically and we walk up to see that the window was broken. We go inside and discover that Boo's full sister Emma (16 years old) had hit the glass to try and scare Miss. Instead she broke the inside window pane! The funny thing about it is that it broke into the shape of a playboy bunny head.

I was expecting Miss and Emma to get in a significant amount of trouble for breaking it because if I had done that at my house I would have been screamed at, grounded, had all electronics and privileges taken away, AND would have had to pay to replace the window. Because of that I really admired how Boo's family handled it. They recognized that they didn't mean to do it and instead worked together to solve the problem :)

I love my boyfriend's family :)

Has your significant other's family ever done anything crazy like this? How does your significant other's family treat you? Talk about it in the comments :)

About me!

Sorry that took so long! I got called down for dinner right before I started writing! Okay well first of all this is me:

That was right after I cut my hair for cancer in September, so my hair is longer now. That picture was taken at my best friend's 17th birthday party (we'll call her Pickle). I was over the night before to help set up and we made the cake that you can see in the bottom left corner. Part of it anyways :P It was a homemade carrot cake, with homemade icing. Then we cut a 17 into it (ate what we cut out of course!) filled it with vanilla icecream and lined the borders of the 17 with butterscotch chips. It was amazing! :)

Anyways I'm supposed to be telling you about me not cake! Even if the cake in question was delicious. Well my name is Terri and I am 17 years old. I turn 18 on Saturday, October 6th. I live with my dad, my mom, and my brothers who I'll just call DR and DJ. DR is 16 and one and a half years younger than me. DJ is 12 (turning 13 August 13th!) and is five years younger than me.

On Thursday, September 6th I am taking a bus 1400km north to Thunder Bay with my mom because on Monday, September 10th I start my freshman year at Lakehead University! :) My program is concurrent education in music. That basically means that after five years in school, I will be able to become a high school music teacher!

Unfortunately, when I go to Thunder Bay I will be going 1400km away from my boyfriend of 3 months and 4 days :( We'll call him Boo (mostly because couples calling each other boo really bugs him). Anyways I love Boo! Boo is a grade below me (but only 3 months younger since he's born in January). He's one of my favourite people on this planet :) He just really knows how to make me happy, make me feel beautiful, and above all knows how to make me feel loved.

And that's a brief overview of my life at the moment!

Leave me comments! I would love to hear from the few people who have viewed either of my blogs! I'm new at this so any feedback would be great :) Thanks so much! <3

Hi all!

It's me again! This is a more personal blog that I'm relating to my other blog at http://avoidingthefrosh15.blogspot.ca/ which is also available through an automatic link in the page section. This is obviously going to be more fun while the other blog will be focused on achieving and maintaining a healthy weight! So just let me write up a little introduction about myself and I'll have that for you all once I'm done! :)
